Vodacom Foundation Chairman, Hassan Saleh, explains
something to former President of Tanzania, Alhaj Ali Hassan Mwinyi, at

washing soap during the visit, which was organized by Vodacom Foundation
through the Pamoja na Vodacom Campaign. The Foundation has set aside Tsh50
million during the Ramadhan period to donate learning materials, food stuffs,
iftar, and clothing to orphans across the country.
Vodacom Tanzania staff serves iftar to orphans and residents
of Kisarawe, Pwani Region yesterday, when they visited them through the Pamoja
na Vodacom Campaign, at an event that was officiated by former President of
Tanzania, Alhaj Hassan Mwinyi. The campaign, organized by Vodacom Foundation,
aims at donating learning materials, food stuffs, iftar, and clothing to
orphans across the country. This year, the Foundation has set aside Tsh50
million for the Campaign.
Dar
es Salaam, 11th July, 2013 … Vodacom Tanzania,
through the Vodacom Foundation, has launched the Pamoja na Vodacom Campaign, an
initiative that aims to reach children living in orphanages in the country
throughout the Holy Month of Ramadhan.
This is the sixth
year the campaign is happening, and will target Kisaware, Kibaha, Pemba and
Mwanza, in a move that will see the Foundation give donations to the children.
Speaking when
launching the campaign in Kisarawe, Pwani Region, Vodacom Foundation Chairman, Hassan
Saleh said that some of the items to be donated include learning materials, food
items, clothing, and iftar worth TZS 50,000,000.
“This is an important
time to Muslims, not simply because it helps develop closer relationship with
Allah, but also because Ramadhan is a time to think on how to help the less
fortunate,” said Salleh adding that, “We are therefore glad to run this
campaign during this period. We are ready to provide what we can."
Former President of
Tanzania, Alhaj Ali Hassan Mwinyi, was the chief guest during the event, and
thanked Vodacom Tanzania, through the Foundation, for its selfless efforts to
serve the community.
“We are glad for what
Vodacom Foundation has done to the people of this place. Be assured that the
people shall forever be grateful for your services and we all wish you well in
your day-to-day activities,” said the former President.A
