INDEPENDENT Television (ITV) journalist Ufoo Saro who is admitted at Muhimbili National Hospital after sustaining bullet wounds has been moved out of the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the hospital as her cond
ition is now stable and improving.
“She has been moved from ICU to a Cardiac Center private room,” reported a hospital source adding that “…she is however still under close monitoring.”
“We know that Ufoo has many relatives and friends who want to see and talk to her but at the moment she needs the doctor’s attention and rest,” said the source.
The Guardian confirmed the reports after visiting Ufoo yesterday at the MNH’s Cardiac Center where she was evidently doing well and able to respond to the greeters and well wishers.
ITV/Radio One Managing Director Joyce Mhavile also visited Ufoo and gave the following comment.
“I am happy that she is doing well, she can talk and her memory is good,”
Meanwhile, the body of Ufoo’s late mother is expected to be transported today to Machame Shari, in Hai district Kilimanjaro for burial scheduled for tomorrow.
According to chairperson of the funeral committee, Allelia Swai, all funeral arrangements have been completed.
In another development, brother of the late Antel Andrew Mushi, Silva Mushi who is reported to have shot Usoo hospitalizing her and also shot her mother and killing her before taking his own life, has expressed shock over the news of his younger brother’s death.
“I have nether heard the dispute between a couple…” he said noting that the news was very shocking and unexpected.
Ufoo was admitted to Muhimbili National Hospital on Sunday after sustaining gunshot wounds following a family dispute at the Kibamba suburb of Dar es Salaam. In that incident, Ufoo’s mother, Nastazia Peter Saro (58) and Antel Andrew Mushi, who is said to have had ‘close relations’ with Ufoo passed away.
