MBUNGE SUZAN KIWANGA AKWAMISHA KESI MAHAKAMANI MOROGORO

PEOPLE’S IN BUDGET 2011/2012 AND 2012/2013.

 HANS MWAKALOBO (33) ACCOUNTANT:
In today’s budget the finance minister to put forward strategies that will increase tax collection and cut unneces-sary spending. This should help fund development projects that stalled in the 2011/2012 budget due to poor funding. I expect to see the government giving more priority to rural road construction to facilitate movement of produce from farms to the market.

GEORGE PAUL (30) BUS CONDUCTOR:
THE 2011/2012 had resulted into reduced spending to ordinary citizen. People could not even afford basic need because of rising prices. The 2012/2013 budget has to look ways of assisting ordinary citizens to access basic necessities like food and fuel. The government must also improve education and heath services, especially through increasing the number of schools and health centres in the wards.

RECEBA NYAULINGO (23) JOURNALIST:
THE 2012/2013 budget should be designed in a way that facilitates inflow of private investments to the economy. This I hope will expand the tax base and reduce dependence on donor funding. Two priorities, I think, are crucial for the finance minister to take intro consideration: improving the welfare of teachers and the medical personnel should be some of the priorities of budget.
   CHARLES JOSEPH (33) A DRIVER
I call upon EWURA to release indicative prices of petroleum for the whole year, instead of current system which has been contributing to fuel price hike. Under the 2012/2013 Ewura must ensure that indicative prices for petroleum are stable, because unstable indicative price have been affecting all important sectors of the economy.
